According to Rusal, in 2019 global demand for aluminum grew by 0.1%, to 65.3 million tons.
Despite the current uncertainty, the segment of cargo transportation could provide for the growth of demand in 2020 on the background of new models launch, including electric vehicles, and the increase of aluminum usage in automobile industry.
The global demand for aluminum in 2020 is expected to grow by 1.3% YoY, to 66.1 million tons.
In 2019 demand in Russia and CIS increased by 1.1%, to 1.13 million tons, including to 0.9 million tons in Russia, and is expected to grow to 1.15-1.2 in 2020. (Ukrainian metal)
