In 10 years Rusal has processed and sold over 50% of aluminum waste generated by its companies.
The processing of alumina sludge accounted for some 10%, which made Rusal the major global processor.
The group has a goal of selling all its wastes.
Now Rusal is testing an innovative technique to process red sludge, the main waste of alumina manufacture, which contains valuable metal oxides. (Ukrainian metal)
