Chelyabinsk Iron and Steel Works has passed on to another stage of the capital repairs of one of its three blast furnaces – the builders have started assembling a new blast furnace.
The repair of the blast furnace No. 4 began in July.
At first the old equipment and machinery was disassembled. Now the new furnace will be erected.
The foundation has already been created.
The renewed blast furnace will resume operation in late December. Its capacity will be over 1 million tons of pig iron per year, or some quarter of all ChMK produced pig iron. (Ukrainian metal)
