Police suspect officials from the State Service of Geology and Subsoil Use in abusing authority while holding an auction to sell the Perzhanskoye deposit. Perzhanskaya Ore Company LLC has been declared a winner with the offer of 76 million UAH.
Police believe that in order to illegally receive payment from the company the officials, violating the legislation, have decided to hold an auction to sell a special permit to mine beryllium ores in Zhytomir region.
The auction was held on April 22 at Prozorro. Sales.
The investigation revealed that the permit to mine ores also covered the southwestern site of the Yastrebetskoye deposit, situated on the territory of the Polesye reserve. Thus, ore mining violates the article No. 40 of the law “On natural reserves of Ukraine”. (Ukrainian metal)
