Bogoslovsky Cable Works LLC, a joint venture of Rusal and Elca-cable, has started manufacturing cable-conductor products with the core of aluminum alloys.
When the enterprise reaches design capacity it will process 4.4 thousand tons of aluminum alloys per year.
Investments in the project totaled 700 million rubles.
The commission of the second shop will let BKZ switch from the production of aluminum semi-finished products to cable products. Such cables with aluminum alloy core are lighter and 15-40% cheaper.
The JV was created in November 2016. Rusal and Elca-cable have 50% of shares each. (Ukrainian metal)
