Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has been awarded several medals and certificates at the 22nd Archimedes Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies.

The panel of experts and international jury at the 2019 Archimedes Salon awarded both MMK and the Central Research Institute of Structural Materials (CRISM) Prometey with a certificate and gold medal for their joint work on developing high-strength cold-resistant steel. Their other joint projects were also acknowledged. The development of a method for production of cold-resistant sheet steel was also awarded a certificate and silver medal by the salon, and the development of methods for the production of high-strength strips for trunk pipelines and for the production of cold-resistant steel for extreme conditions were awarded bronze medals.

MMK received a certificate as a token of gratitude for having participated in the organization and holding of the event. MMK was also awarded a certificate for its contribution to the innovation, theorization and widespread practice of intellectual property rights.

The 22nd Archimedes Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies took place on March 26-29. This year, over 300 organizations from 35 countries and 44 regions of Russia took part. MMK’s innovative potential was showcased by four patented technologies in the field of cold-resistant metal rolling designed for icebreaker fleets, marine and engineering equipment used in the Arctic.
