In January-February Ukraine mined 5.1 million tons of coal, down by 4.4% YoY.
According to the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, coking coal output dropped by 18.1%, to 872.8 thousand tons, and energy-generating coal – by 1%, to 4.23 million tons.
In February coal mining went down by 7%, to 2.49 million tons.
Enterprises managed by the ministry in 2 months mined 646.2 thousand tons of coal, down by 18.9%, with coking coal at 119 thousand tons (+5.1%) and power-generating coal at 527.2 thousand tons (-22.9%).
The mines of the Donetsk region extracted 1.737 million tons (-3.8%), Lugansk – 70 thousand tons (-30.3%), Dniepropetrovsk – 3.04 million tons (-3.3%), Lviv – 242.9 thousand tons (-8.2%) and Volyn – 8.7 thousand tons (-53.2%). (Ukrainian metal)
