Russian aluminum giant UC RUSAL has focused on restoring temporarily lost ties with clients after the abolishment of the U.S. sanctions in late January, CEO Yevgeny Nikitin told Bloomberg on March 4.

The company is currently in talks over contracts for 2020, he said.

RUSAL has already resumed partnership with a number of clients, but it is difficult to say when the company will be able to reach the previous level of production, as some clients have already signed contracts with other suppliers, Nikitin said.

Nikitin also said that RUSAL did not plan to sell its stake in metals giant Norilsk Nickel to repay its debt and might consider refinancing its debt this year. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)
