Last year social expenditures of ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih rose by UAH 92 million YoY, from UAH 340.6 million to UAH 432.7 million because of the increase of financing of some items and launching of new projects.
The most significant part of the funds in 2018 was allocated for the rest and recuperation of the company’s employees and their families – almost UAH 170 million. During health-improving season, the company provided 42,885 vouchers for recreation at their own facilities. Out of these, 32,298 were free vouchers at three countryside tourist camps (they were in great demand among the company’s employees, their relatives and guests). In addition, 6,351 people rested at sea at a reduced price at Health Complexes “Alye Parusa” and “Azov”, 4,236 children of employees got rehabilitation in children’s summer camps: “Parus” – on the Black Sea and “Burevestnik” – on the Azov coast.
The company allocated about UAH 14 million to “Package Tour for Leave” project launched in 2018, under which each employee had the right to choose his own vacation with the help of 5-6 travel agencies accredited by the company. Part of the cost of holiday package price is compensated by ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih. The amount of compensation depends on the frequency of use of this benefit, and the maximum amount of compensation is UAH 10 thousand. Last year a little over 3 thousand people used this benefit. This year the company will continue this project.
The total expenses for the employees’ rest in Ukraine and abroad amounted to UAH 18.4 million. In general, the company has purchased 3,237 external vouchers for the rehabilitation of the employees.
Other significant social expenditures include maintenance of Metallurg Palace of culture, where many city and corporate events take place, as well as medical center that unites health units’ chain throughout the company and two polyclinics. For these purposes, ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih allocated UAH 57 million.
Transportation of the employees to the place of work and back (including in the winter period) cost the company almost UAH 25 million, providing meal services to employees – UAH 30 million, and voluntary medical insurance – UAH 11.5 million. The plant allocated UAH 41.6 million for the capital and current repairs of the facilities (including sanitary and welfare facilities). ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih allocated UAH 40.6 million for cost compensation of utility payments to the employees. Payments to the trade union organizations amounted to UAH 14 million that was accounted for the rehabilitation of the employees and for the organization of mass cultural and sporting events.
The volume of various payments increased – social expenditures for this item amounted to over UAH 26 million. In particular, last year the company doubled the amount of payments to September 1 for each school-aged child, first of all for the employees who belong to vulnerable groups, which are single mothers, single fathers, widows, widowers, guardians, and large families.
In 2018 the number of the social projects for children increased. The company continued the work of English and IT-technologies school for the children of company’s employees. In spring 2018 the School of Young Engineers was opened. And since September 2018, the learning at English and IT schools have started for children of the city – for more than 1,100 children.
Project “Holidays with ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih” has become new and unusual one for the city. In summer 2018, within the framework of this project, 12 bright entertainment shows were organized and conducted. During autumn and winter holidays, training workshops for the young bloggers were held.
In 2019 ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih plans to retain its social programs and to offer new projects for its employees and their families, as well as residents of the city. (AMKR/Ukrainian metal)
