OJSC Magnitogorsk Metalware and Calibration Plant MMK Metiz has successfully passed the certification audit for compliance with the requirements of the new international standard in the railway industry ISO/TS 22163:2017. Over the course of a week, specialists of the Russian branch of the international certification body DQS (Germany) conducted an audit of the management system of MMK Metiz for compliance with ISO/TS 22163:2017, which replaced IRIS – the previous international standard for the railway industry.

Compliance with the requirements of ISO/TS 22163 is assessed on a percentage scale and scores are awarded in the audit. During the test, the level of maturity of the management system of MMK Metiz was evaluated at 65%. As noted by the auditors, this is a very good result for a company, being certified according to this standard for the first time.

ISO/TS 22163:2017 certification is extremely important to the development of cooperation with a long-term customer of MMK Metiz – Russian Railways. This standard conforms to the requirements for suppliers of products for the railway industry. ISO/TS 22163 involves an assessment of the management system to facilitate its continuous improvement, as well as requirements for the development of the entire production chain. The implementation of the management system according to this standard will allow the company optimizing production, improving the quality and competitiveness of products, as well as strengthening the position of MMK Metiz as one of the leading suppliers of products for the railway industry.
