Gold production in Russia’s Khabarovsk region increased by 6% YoY, to 24.5 tons in 2018, the region’s government press service said.

“The Khabarovsk region has set a new gold production record. Miners have already reported about 24.5 tons of the precious metal in 2018. This is not the final figure but it exceeds the previous year’s figure seen as the historical maximum by a whopping 1.5 tons,” the authority said.

Resursy Albazino, a unit of Polymetal, and Mnogovershinnoye, an affiliate of Highland Gold Mining, were the most prominent producers.

Silver production amounted to 62 tons under preliminary forecasts. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)
