Since the start of the year Chelyabinsk Iron and Steel Works has shipped over 8 thousand tons of Z-sections.
The products are supplied to the major car-manufacturers and repair plants in Russia and Belarus.
ChMK mastered the manufacture of the Z-310 sections in January.
The beam is produced of 2 steel grades with improved strength.
“Railroad cargo transportation accounts for 60% of the cargo throughput in Russia. At the same time there is a shortage of cars and open cars, so there is a need to renew the rolling stock fleet. Thus, we intend to increase our presence on this market”, the company sales director Vadim Shalygin said. (Ukrainian metal)
