In January-October the Belarus Iron and Steel Works (BMZ) exported 1.66 million tons of metal products worth over $1 billion, the company’s Press Secretary Alexander Olesik reported.
In physical terms the export growth rate totaled 107.6% as against January-October 2017. In monetary terms the figure was 131.5%, with the sales profitability at 9%.
In January-October BMZ made 2.02 million tons of steel (105.3% as against the same period of last year), 1.76 million tons of rolled products (99.1%), 125,000 tons of seamless pipes (110.5%), and 349,600 tons (101%) of products made by the wire manufacturing division – metal cord, bronzed bead wire, wire for high-pressure hoses, and other kinds of steel wire.
This year’s top five importers of Belarusian steel are Russia, Germany, Ukraine, Israel, and Lithuania. BMZ shipped its products to a total of 62 countries in the period.
The public joint-stock company (OAO) BMZ – managing company of the holding company BMC is a high-tech Belarusian metallurgical company. BMZ has four enterprises united by the single process flow – a steel smelting division, a rolling division, a pipe division, and divisions making hardware items and supplying work tools and implements.
