In January-September Ukraine mined 24.849 million tons of coal, down by 5.1% YoY.
According to the Ministry of energy and coal industry, coking coal output dropped by 11.8%, to 4.463 million tons, and of power-generating coal by 3.5%, to 20.385 million tons.
In September coal output grew by 8.3% YoY, to 2.781 million tons.
The enterprises, managed by the ministry, in 9 months decreased coal output by 11.3%, to 3.148 million tons, including 374.1 thousand tons of coking coal and 2.774 million tons of power-generating coal, all down by 43.3% and by 4% YoY respectively.
Mines of the Donetsk region extracted 8.333 million tons of coal, down by 4.2%, Lugansk region – 397.8 thousand tons (-74.7%), Dniepropetrovsk – 14.83 million tons (+1.2%), Lviv – 1.207 million tons (+6.5%) and Volyn – 80.6 thousand tons (-4.2%). (Ukrainian metal)
