Evraz Kachkanarsky Mining and Processing Works has celebrated its 55 anniversary.
The company has created a museum on the site where the first mining control room and the first observation desk had been.
In 1966 the KGOK started producing sinter, and from 1970 – pellets.
In 2015 Evraz KGOK was the first Russian GOK to exceed 2 billion tons of ore mined. Now the result is 2.2 billion tons.
In 55 years the company has produced 405 million tons of concentrate, 152 million tons of sinter and 207 million tons of pellets.
Each year the four quarries of Evraz KGOK mine 59 million tons of iron ore. The company produces over 6 million tons of pellets and 3.5 million tons of sinter per year. The iron content in pellets exceeds 60%. (Ukrainian metal)
