Chelyabinsk Iron and Steel Works has received a certificate for the manufacture of rails for railroads with the speed of 250 km per hour.
The first deliveries are scheduled for October.
The quality of rails has been evaluated in several stages.
“From October we will start supplying rails to the Russian Railways. They will be used to modernize the high-speed railroad on Moscow – St. Petersburg route. We can also supply the rails for the construction of other high-speed railroads. Now we want to master the manufacture of rail for the railroads with the speed of up to 400 km-h”, Mechel-Steel CEO Andrei Ponomarev said. (Ukrainian metal)
