Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a law introducing amendments to Ukraine’s state budget for 2018 regarding the payment of wage arrears to miners, the press service of the head of state has said.
“President Petro Poroshenko signed the law of Ukraine on the introduction of amendments to the law of Ukraine on Ukraine’s state budget for 2018, which was adopted by parliament on July 13,” the report says.
The law foresees in the 2018 state budget the transfer of budget funds through a special fund to the Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Ministry under the budget program, entitled “Support for the introduction of the electric energy market”, with a total of UAH 1.4 billion for state support of coalmining enterprises for partial repayment of the costs of finished coal products by changing the name of this budget program to “State support for coalmining enterprises for partial repayment of the costs of finished coal products”.
According to the Presidential Administration, the implementation of the law will reduce the social tension among miners, as the funds of this budget program will be directed for repayment of wage arrears to miners.
The law also expands the sources of funding for this state program and includes the funds seized and the funds received from the sale of property seized by a court decision for the commission of corruption and corruption-related offenses. (Ukrinform/Ukrainian metal)
