In January-June Ukraine mined 16.495 million tons of coal, down by 10.5% YoY.
According to the Ministry of energy and coal industry, coking coal mining decreased by 8.2%, to 3.205 million tons and power-generating coal – by 11.1%, to 13.293 million tons.
In June coal output dropped by 1.7% YoY, to 2.599 million tons.
The ministry-managed enterprises mined 2.161 million tons of coal in 6 months, down by 8.7% YoY, including 241.4 thousand tons of coking coal, down by 46.3%, and 1.92 million tons of power-generating coal, up by 0.1%.
Donetsk region mines yielded 5.8 million tons of coal, down by 8.3%, Lugansk region – 282.2 thousand tons, down by 81.4%, Dniepropetrovsk – 9.55 million tons, down by 2.9%, Lviv – 802.9 thousand tons, up by 13.9%, and Volyn region mines – 58.1 thousand tons, up by 2.3%. (Ukrainian metal)
