ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih reports that Sumykhimprom and the state enterprise Vostochniy GOK refuse to supply sulfuric acid without any explanation.
“We now face the absence of sulfuric acid on the domestic market. Why do we bring it from Belarus? Because we have no choice, as we cannot buy the sulfuric acid in Ukraine”, the company deputy CEO Vladimir Tkachenko said.
AMKR consumes some 2.5-3 thousand tons of acid per month.
The company has also invested $170 million in the construction of the coke-oven batteries.
“We expected them to reach full capacity in autumn, but now we have our doubts”, he added. (Ukrainian metal)
