In May Russia produced 6.23 million tons of steel, up by 6% YoY (5.877 million tons), while in April the output totaled 6.03 million tons.

In January-May steel output grew by 2% YoY, to 30.027 million tons.

Ukraine increased steel manufacture by 2.9% YoY, to 1.695 million tons, while in April it produced 1.721 million tons. In 5 months output totaled 8.68 million tons, up by 0.4%.

Kazakhstan in May produced 435 thousand tons, up by 13.6% YoY (420 thousand tons in April), and 2.023 million tons in January-May, up by 9.1% YoY.

Steel output in Belarus fell by 47% YoY, to 115 thousand tons in May (110 thousand tons in April) and by 24.2% YoY, to 709 thousand tons in 5 months.

Uzbekistan increased steel output in May by 843.4% YoY, to 500 thousand tons (50 thousand tons in April) and by 167%, to 705 thousand tons in January-May.

Moldova produced 60 thousand tons of steel, flat MoM, but up by 36.4% YoY. In January-May steel production grew by 135.5% YoY, to 259 thousand tons.

In May CIS countries produced 9.035 million tons, up by 9.9% YoY (8.391 million tons in April), and 42.403 million tons in 5 months, up by 2.8% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)
