РJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih jointly with Kriviy Rih City Employment Center have reached the agreement about providing pupils and students of the city with temporary employment during summer vacation. The purpose is to make it easier for the youth to choose the future profession and to find a job in the hometown in future.

Special temporary working places for the youth were created. Main directions are courier work and paper work. Each employee is provided with the minimal salary of 3723 UAH, according to the worked out time.

The short-cut duration of working time is set for the teenagers, who are younger than 16 years, at 24 hours and older than 16 years – 36 hours. The working term is two weeks. During this period kids are able to get acquainted with the operating peculiarities of the plant and to choose the future profession.

Iryna Futruk, Head of the department of social development, РJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih: “Our company pays attention to career guidance work. We are providing not only regular tours to the plant for children. We are also proposing the real opportunity to challenge oneself at the biggest plant of the city. Here young people can get their first working experience, first employment book and first salary. РJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih has been organizing the employment of the teenagers since 2013. This is a definitely good tradition”.

Larysa Shevchenko, deputy director of Kriviy Rih City Employment Center: “Nowadays, teenagers do not have a lot of possibilities to be employed officially. On the one hand, current employment legislation protects the rights of the non-adult people. On the other hand, it sets certain limits for their chances: the employers are hardly ever ready to provide children with temporary employment, because they are mostly interested in long-term employment. However, there are the big companies, which are efficiently cooperating with us for a long time. Primarily РJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih is one of these companies. Annually, during summer vacation, the temporary working places for the youth are created here”. (AMKR/Ukrainian metal)
