Beloretsk Iron and Steel Works has presented a project on the acid-free wire manufacture.
The company has shut down the etching department of its wire shop, reconstructed the drawing mills and put into operation new water purifying machinery.
Instead of the etching lines, two foreign descaling lines have been commissioned. All this allowed the company to decrease water wastes 8-fold.
Investments totaled 200 million rubles.
“BMK intends to switch all of its wire shops to a new technology in 2023. Investments into environmental renovation will total 1 billion rubles”, the company CEO Victor Kamelin said. (Ukrainian metal)
