Ferrexpo is minimizing pellets sales on the markets of the Eastern Europe, at the same time increasing deliveries to constant buyers of premium products in Germany and Austria, South Korea and Japan.

“We are not leaving the markets of the Eastern Europe, but we are gradually decreasing exports there, re-orienting on our main customers, in particular, in Germany, South Korea, Austria and Japan. And we have almost ceased supplying pellets to Slovakia”, the company investors and communications manager Ingrid McMahon said.

In 2017 Ferrexpo increased pellets sales in Central Europe and Turkey, but decreased in China, Southeastern and Northeastern Asia, as well as in Western Europe. Central Europe accounted for the most sales – 49% (48% in 2016).

The sales share in Western Europe dropped from 16% to 15%, in Northeastern Asia – from 17% to 16%, and in China and Southeastern Asia – from 13% to 12%, while grew in Turkey from 6% to 8%.

Last year Ferrexpo sold 10.467 million tons of pellets, down from 11.697 million tons in 2016. (Ukrainian metal)
