The state enterprise Ukrpromvneshexpertisa says in June deliveries of scrap to metal companies will decrease by 16.67% MoM, or by 50 thousand tons, to 250 thousand tons.
“I believe in June deliveries will decrease somewhat, as the price drop starts affecting scrap procurement. Thus, deliveries to metal companies will also decrease. Another factor is the problems at ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, the largest consumer of scrap”, the enterprise deputy director Yuri Dobrovolsky said.
The forecast volume of deliveries in May is 300 thousand tons, against 236 thousand tons in April.
As of the end of May, metal companies will stock some 80 thousand tons of scrap, as opposed to 50 thousand tons in early May, thus increasing by 60%. (Ukrainian metal)
