The meeting of employer PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih and the representatives of labor collective began on May 3 with a purpose to start reconciliation procedures. As of early May 4, it has already lasted for over 18 hours.
The employer signed an agreement regarding the creation of reconciliation commission in order to settle collective labor dispute as previously agreed with the representative body of labor collective. This fact evidences the readiness of the management to discuss key issues for labor collective. However, the agreement has not been signed until now by the representative body of labor collective. The major point of contention – the need to ensure confidentiality of commercial and economic information of the company as well as personal data. Non-disclosure behavior does not prevent in any manner the discussion of specific issues to find mutual understanding.
Head of branch of National Mediation and Conciliation Service (NMCS) in Dnipropetrovsk region Igor Chub was present at the meeting for reconciliation of current situation. Making a concession, the employer submitted the proposals for consideration at NMCS and the head of mediation agency agreed them. However, the other party ignores the recommendations of NMCS and refuses to sign the agreement.
Such position of representative body of labor collective evidences the delaying tactics and unwillingness to start reconciliation procedures. At the moment, the representative body is trying to manipulate the opinion of labor collective spreading incorrect information.
