The Federation of Metal Makers of Ukraine forecasts losses of the mining and metal complex (accounts for 6-7% of diesel fuel consumption) at 2.5 billion UAH per year in case fuel gets more expensive because of imposition of import quotas.

According to the Federation chairman Sergey Belenkiy, this accounts for both purchases of fuel and the increase of railroad tariffs.

“Our losses, direct and indirect, will amount to 2.5 billion UAH, and this must not happen. There are many ways to help an industry, including direct state support, but this must not be done at the expense of other industries and people”, he said. (Ukrainian metal)
