Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant, a unit of the Russian nuclear fuel producer TVEL, exported more than 300 kilograms of metal uranium to France in 2017, Alexander Yevseyev, the plant’s director for production, said on February 13.

“This is the first delivery within a large contract. The client was satisfied, and we will continue cooperation,” he said without specifying where the uranium would be used.

In October 2017 Russian nuclear industry magazine Atomny Expert reported that Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant produced and exported uranium metal to the Jules Horowitz Reactor research facility in France. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)
