In 2017 Kuzbass coal output increased by 6.2% YoY, to 241.5 million tons, including 65 million tons of coking coal and 176.5 million tons of power-generating coal.
The regional factories last year processed 161.6 million tons of coal, up by 1.8 million tons YoY, including 59.1 million tons of power-generating coal (33% of the total amount).
Last year 226.4 million tons of coal were transported via railroad, up by 107.4% YoY.
140.7 million tons of coal were exported, up by 16.2 million tons YoY.
The largest consumers of Kuzbass coal were South Korea (16 million tons), Great Britain (11.4 million tons), Turkey (11.2 million tons), Japan (10.8 million tons) and the Netherlands (8.7 million tons). (Ukrainian metal)
