Zabaykalstalinvest has been holding the license to develop 2 sites in Zabaykalye region since 1993.
The company intends to start developing the Chineysky deposits in 2018-2019.
In particular, the company plans to construct a mining and processing works at the Rudny site to process copper, platinum, gold and palladium. Another works will be constructed at the Magnitny site and will deal with titanium-magnesium and vanadium-containing ores.
The license for the Chineysky deposit has been prolonged till 2022.
So far the company has been unable to find the technology to extract all the components from the Magnitny ore with the minimal losses. In particular, the company needs a technique to extract not only iron and vanadium, but titanium as well. (Ukrainian metal)
