Mining and metallurgic company Norilsk Nickel plans to issue green Eurobonds until the end of 2018, Deputy Chairman of the Board Andrei Bugrov said at a central bank meeting.

“There have been no green bond issues on the domestic market yet. Norilsk Nickel is discussing an option to issue the instrument to support a program of ecological restoration of the Arctic and namely to reduce sulfur emissions to the atmosphere,” he said.

Bugrov added that there was no difference between green bonds and traditional Eurobonds except for the responsibility to report implementation of the sustainability program.

There is demand for such securities, he said. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)
