Ukrainian governmental and industrial lobbyists failed to make Egypt abolish import duties on rebars.

The Ministry of trade and industry of Egypt has announced that the temporary duties will become permanent. At least, for the next 5 years.

Ukrainian metallurgy, represented by ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, will have to pay 15-27% of the customs cost of the rebars.

Last year Ukraine sold some 500 thousand tons of rebars to Egypt, or 7-8% of the market. Over 90% of these rebars were manufactured by AMKR. In 2014-2016 the Egyptian market was the second most important destination for the company, earning it last year around $200 million. (Ukrainian metal)
