The member of the Mariupol city council Maxim Borodin has published on his page in Facebook a video of another major air pollution by the local Ilyich Iron and Steel Works.
“In broad daylight Mariupol Ilyich is polluting the air over the city”, he wrote. “I’m sure that neither the CEO, nor the blast furnace shop director will be punished. Dear Ostap Semerak (ecology minister), for how long will this horror go on? The environment inspection of Mariupol has been destroyed following the reform. Thus, there is no sense for the works to invest in modernization”.
“I’m asking the members of the parliament and the city council to address the law-enforcing and supervisory authorities as to this incident. I will provide the video materials”, Borodin noted. “I am also very interested in the reaction of those, “uncontrolled” by Akhmetov – the mayor Vadim Boichenko and the director of the environment department Vahagn Mnacakanyan.
