Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works carries out a major reconstruction program to improve its positions on foreign markets.
Thus, the company has signed an agreement with Primetals Technologies Austria for the delivery of machinery to reconstruct the 1700 sheet-rolling shop valued at over $25 million.
“The world metal market is changing and we are changing with it. Our strategy presupposes the development of rolled products, including coils. After the reconstruction we will be able to compete in the segment of high value added products”, Metinvest CEO Yuri Ryzhenkov said.
The reconstruction is scheduled to end in 2019. The total cost of the project is $85.5 million. (Ukrainian metal)
