ArcelorMittal Temirtau is finishing the first stage of MES (Manufacturing Execution System) project implementation valued at over $6 million.

The project is being implemented in the continuous-cast department, bars shop and sheet-rolling shop No. 1.

The second stage is planned for 2018-2019. The system will be implemented in sheet-rolling shops Nos. 2 and 3, hot-galvanizing, aluminum plating and painting shop, as well as pipe-welding departments.

The further stages are planned for 2019-2023 and will cover all the other divisions.

“The MES project first stage implementation is 95% complete. It will considerably ease the work of the shops. We are sure that the project will improve the quality of products”, the company data processing computer center director Sergey Rogovoy said. (Ukrainian metal)
