Belarus and Venezuela will be able to achieve the goals they set forth and strengthen the relations of cooperation and friendship, Belarus Industry Minister Vitaly Vovk said at the meeting with Venezuelan Minister for Basic, Strategic and Socialist Industries Juan Arias.

The parties discussed bilateral cooperation, especially in iron and steel manufacturing.

According to Vitaly Vovk, the talks are underway on hot briquetted iron (HBI) and the production of railcars, chassis, wheels, axles, sleepers and support materials.

“This is just the beginning of brotherly relations that will help develop our trade cooperation, the union that was laid down by Hugo Chavez and President Alexander Lukashenko. We will be strengthening cooperation through basic companies and heavy industry of Belarus,” said Juan Arias.

The meeting took place ahead of the first shipment of iron bars produced by Briquetera del Orinoco to Belarus. (BelTA/Ukrainian metal)
