Electrocable has purchased a tensile-testing machine.
The 1.5 million rubles machine tests metal wire (wire rod) and belts used to manufacture cables. It has replaced the tensile-testing machine, produced in 1960s.
Unlike the old equipment the new machine is completely automated.
“We test the tensile strength of wire rod by stretching it with the strength of up to 5 tons. With the new machine the testing time has been decreased almost 3-fold, while the precision of the tests has increased 2-fold”, the testing center assistant Elena Filippova said. (Ukrainian metal)
