Employees of Rodinskaya mine (a part of the state enterprise Mirnogradugol) said coal mining stopped on October 13. Miners go underground but do not work, as they still have not received salary for August and September.
“The mine director comes to us every day and asks to start working. But he cannot tell us when we will receive our salary. Tomorrow or in some days. And it has been like this for 2 weeks. In August we received only 20% of the salary – some 800-1400 UAH each”, miners said.
So far August salary has been paid in full only at the Kapitalnaya mine. The rest have to wait for the budget committee of the Verkhovnaya Rada to gather and decide on sending costs to support state mines. Mirnogradugol will receive 36 million UAH. (Ukrainian metal)
