Saudi Arabia intends to increase the import duty for Russian rolled sheet from the current 5% to 31%.
“As to metals, we could face a problem, and this would influence our trade relations with Saudi Arabia”, the minister of industry and trade Denis Manturov said.
At present Russian authorities are trying to convince the Saudi Arabian counterparts not to protect their own manufacturers.
“Now we pay some 5%, and that is a rather liberal tariff regulation. But if they decide to increase the duty to 31%, that will be a blocking duty. We’re negotiating not to let this happen”, he added. (Ukrainian metal)
