In January-July Russia imported 107 thousand tons of steel pipe products from Germany, up 24-fold.

June showed the record volumes – 53.7 thousand tons in the history of imports from Germany. In May and July imports were also considerable (some 25.5 thousand tons).

Large diameter pipes account for around 95% of the imports. And they are mostly supplied to the Krasnodarsky Krai. Gazprom is forcing the construction of the Turkish Stream, fearing that the US sanctions will eventually shut it down. (Ukrainian metal)
