In August Russia produced 5.6 million tons of steel, down by 5% YoY (5.585 million tons in July). In 8 months steel output totaled 46.535 million tons, down by 1% YoY.

Ukraine in August decreased steel output by 5.5% YoY, to 1.8 million tons (1.81 million tons in July), with 14.114 million tons produced in January-August, down by 13.9% YoY.

Kazakhstan produced 425 thousand tons of steel in August, as in July, up by 14.6% YoY, and 3.12 million tons in 8 months, up by 11.3% YoY.

Belarus decreased steel output in August by 2.7% YoY, to 180 thousand tons (as in July), while it increased output by 3.8% YoY, to 1.493 million tons in January-August.

Uzbekistan produced 60 thousand tons of steel in August, down by 1.6% YoY (as in July), and 451 thousand tons in 8 months, down by 3.2% YoY.

Moldova produced 30 thousand tons of steel (as in July), up by 87.5% YoY. In January-August steel output totaled 186 thousand tons, up by 162% YoY.

All in all in August CIS countries produced 8.095 million tons of steel, down by 4% YoY (8.09 million tons in July), and 65.889 million tons in 8 months, down by 3.4% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)
