JSC “Uralelectromed” (an enterprise of the metallurgical complex of UMMC) has introduced a new labeling for copper sulfate, in order to supply it to the European market as a supplement for animal feed.
The new labeling was adopted by the company in accordance with clauses and rules of (EC) Regulation 1831/2003 of the European Parliament and European Council. Besides the labeling, a product usage specification for the animal feed production in languages of countries of export has been developed.
“Copper sulfate is used in European countries, including for production of animal feed, so the content of impurities should be minimal,” said the head of foreign trade department Alexander Gorsky.
About 80% of the copper sulfate of HP (high-purity) and FGV HP (fine-grained vitriol high-purity) grades produced by the enterprise is now in demand in the EU countries for the production of feed additives to animals.
To obtain high quality products, a separate technological line has been implemented in the copper sulfate plant within the enterprise, and innovative solutions were introduced. To date, the shop is one of the leading hydrometallurgical plants in Russia.
It should be noted that in 2016 JSC “Uralelektromed” received the approval of “TÜV SÜD Management Service GmbH” auditor in order to obtain a certificate confirming compliance of the company’s copper sulfate with FAMI-QS requirements (European regulations for feed additives and premixes producers).
