In January-March Ukraine mined 6.7 million tons of coal, down by 11.3% YoY.

According to the State Statistics Service, in March coal output dropped by 17.7% YoY, to 2 million tons.

In January-February coal output increased by 11.3% YoY, or by 750.8 thousand tons, to 7367.9 thousand tons. Coking coal output dropped by 24.2%, or by 338.3 thousand tons, to 1058.5 thousand tons, while that of power-generating coal increased by 16.5%, or by 891.3 thousand tons, to 6309.4 thousand tons.

In 2016 Ukraine mined 40864.1 thousand tons of coal, up by 2.8% YoY, or by 1119.4 thousand tons, including 8361.4 thousand tons of coking coal, up by 0.4% YoY, or by 36.3 thousand tons, and 32502.7 thousand tons of power-generating coal, up by 3.4%, or by 1083.1 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
