The Kazakhstan state gold-mining works Tau-Ken Altyn, a part of the National mining company Tau-Ken Samruk, plans to sell the National bank 15 tons of gold this year.
“Last year Tau-Ken Altyn sold 12 tons of gold to the National bank. This year our plan is 15 tons”, Tau-Ken Samruk chairman Mazhit Turmagambetov said.
Thus gold output is expected to increased by 25% YoY.
According to Turmagambetov, so far the works has already sold 29 tons of gold in 12-kg ingots to the National bank.
Tau-Ken Altyn was put into operation in December 2013. The project cost was 4.5 billion tenge (about $30 million at that time). The works capacity is 25 tons of gold and 50 tons of silver per year. The gold capacities are expected to increase to 70-75 tons in future. (Ukrainian metal)
