Russia suggests creating an OPEK-like international organization in the aluminum industry.

“This is just a suggestion. But we would like this organization to function with direct government participation and state representatives. For the first stage even an association will be enough. The main thing is that all the countries, which are major manufacturers and exporters of aluminum, agree on the unified policy in respect of standards and technologies”, the minister of industry and trade Denis Manturov declared.

In particular, he noted the problem of using environmentally unfriendly technologies in China.

According to Manturov, the organization could include Russia, China, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. (Ukrainian metal)
