ArcelorMittal Temirtau has included 23 environment projects valued at 18.5 billion tenge into its environment protection plan for 2017-2019.
In particular, 7 projects have to do with air protection, 3 with water resources, and 4 with wastes, as well as various scientific and research measures to protect land resources and on radiation, biological and chemical safety.
“We pay serious attention to environment protection. We understand our impact on the ecological conditions in the city. Metallurgical manufacture is pollution, high temperature and chemical processes, which can’t help but impact the environment. But every year we plan and take environment-protecting measures, approved by the Energy Ministry. The implementation of all these projects is under our constant control. Our goal is to decrease the negative impact on the environment to the maximum”, the company ecology director Galina Drozdova said. (Ukrainian metal)
