In 2000-2015 Russian metal companies invested a lot into their own development to increase competitiveness and satisfy the local demand in metal products both in quality and in volume.

Russian Steel enterprises investments into ferrous metallurgy in 2000-2015 totaled 1.868 trillion rubles, with annual investments growing from 23 billion in 2000 to 135 billion in 2015. Still, since 2012 the slowdown of investments in the industry has been observed. (Ukrainian metal)
