In January scrap stocks at Ukrainian iron and steel works decreased by 70 thousand tons, to 120 thousand tons.
Last month metal companies received 230 thousand tons of scrap, down by 90 thousand tons MoM, or 73% of their need.
In January Ukraine exported 10 thousand tons of scrap and imported 2 thousand tons.
In 2016 the Verkhovnaya Rada of Ukraine increased scrap export duty from 10 euro per ton to 30 euro and cancelled the registration of import contracts, which improved scrap deliveries to metal works. (Ukrainian metal)
