Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works decided to decrease output because of the blockade of the railroad to the uncontrolled territories.
“The stable transport connection is part and parcel of the functioning of our enterprises. Our raw material stocks are dwindling. We even have to make a decision to decrease output. Without the operation of major enterprises people will have no means for life, while budgets will be left without revenue and social sphere – without support”, the company CEO Yuri Zinchenko said.
According to him, the blockade destroys the economical life of Ukraine, by stopping the delivery from Ukrainian companies operating on uncontrolled territories.
“They don’t care that there would be no warmth in the houses, no coal at the power plants. That our companies, including metal works, will be shut down. Where should the employees go? Hundreds of thousands of them”, he added. (Ukrainian metal)
