The key Ukrainian pipe enterprises cut ferrous pipe production by 0.5% in 2016, to 848,000 tons. A total of 67,000 tons was made in December 2016.
The Ukrtruboprom association reported that the association’s enterprises cut pipe output by 10% in 2016, to 552,300 tons, making 44,700 tons in December 2016 alone.
Ukrtruboprom said that Khartsyzsk Pipe Works (Donetsk region), located in the ATO zone, produced 19,200 tons of pipes in 2016, whereas in 2015 – 67,000 tons. In December 2016 the plant was idle, while in November 2016 it made 6,000 tons of pipes.
Pipe production at Interpipe NTMK fell by 4.2% YoY, to 159,000 tons (15,300 tons in December 2016), Interpipe NTZ increased output by 5%, to 105,000 tons (3,000 tons), while Interpipe Niko Tube reduced production by 8.9%, to 222,500 tons (22,300 tons).
Dniepropetrovsk Tube Plant saw a 2.1-fold rise in pipe production in 2016, to 23,500 tons, making 2,100 tons in December 2016. Production dropped by 11% at Centravis, to 17,000 tons of stainless pipes (1,400 tons).
Trubostal cut output by 10% last year, to 2,700 tons, and Nikopol Steel Pipe Plant YUTIST boosted production to 3,400 tons from 2,700 tons.
Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works, which is not a member of the association, saw a 42.6% rise in pipe production in 2016, to 88,400 tons (6,400 tons in December 2016), and production at Kominmet grew by 17.3%, to 207,100 tons (15,200 tons).
