In 2016 Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works spent 1.647 billion UAH on its technical modernization.

Strategic investment projects cost the company 894 million UAH.

“That’s the reconstruction of the gas-purifying equipment in the sintering factory (259 million UAH) and the second converter (136 million UAH), overhaul of the blast furnace No. 4 (334 million UAH), construction of the PCI station for the delivery to Azovstal (over 40 million UAH), and the two-stream continuous casting machine No. 4 (125 million UAH)”, the company CEO Yuri Zinchenko said.

The works also spent 556 million UAH on the capital repairs program. In particular, 72 million UAH was given for the modernization of the sintering machines No. 4 and 5, 20 million – for the blast furnace No. 5, converter No. 2 – 60 million UAH. The repairs of 3000 and 1700 mills cost 25 million each. 30 million UAH were spent to repair railroad stock. (Ukrainian metal)
